An exciting opportunity is available for a motivated and proactive person to join the Advice & Marketing business as a Researcher Relationships Associate - Investments (RRA).

Fundamental to this role is assisting the Researcher Relationship Manager (RRM) in the development and management of head office, investment management and associated distribution relationships with retail research houses.

The output of this role will assist in maintaining and broadening investment sales opportunities for all Group product, (i.e. Manager of Manager - MoM and nabinvest partners product offerings) as well as any other offerings that are brought to market.

Critcal to the role is ensuring that the Group is seen by our research clients as being efficient and easy to deal with and the presentation of the Group's investment capabilities is done so in a professional manner and is seen as best practice.

The role will be jointly responsible for the success of relationships between the Group and external research houses (including any investment consulting departments), and assist with AFSL research areas to drive increased recognition and representation of the Group's investment products within the retail market.

On a day to day basis your duties will include (but may not be limited to):-

  • Responsible for the coordination of review meetings, the management of internal resources and stakeholders to ensure the provision of timely and accurate data to retail research houses
  • Develop and implement strategies and business plans for research houses
  • Regularly report actual fund ratings with variance analyses and revised projections to key stakeholders
  • Jointly responsible for driving & managing the relationships of the Group with retail researcher contacts at all levels
  • Participate as a member of National Accounts Team and assist in the development of sales strategies, strategic and business plans aligned with expanding the distribution of all of the Group's products in the retail market across all research targets
  • Co-ordinate and manage the research review process for the Group's products across all key internal stakeholders
  • Develop and influence the various stakeholders of the Group in relation to "take to market" strategies, aligned researcher outcomes and support the successful distribution of investment products
  • Provide the researcher perspective in the development of new products and the relevant "due diligence" required to understand and influence structural change in existing products
  • Drive a proactive communication strategy to all Research Houses & provide input into adviser campaigns based on researcher representation
  • Proactively engage all external and internal clients
  • Strong advocate for MLC and the National Australia Group (and the respective investment products) across the retail research community
  • Be professional and act ethically by ensuring compliance with external legislation, bank standards and internal operating policies and procedures relevant to the position
  • Ensure all personal training records are maintained and kept up to date.

You should be able to demonstrate current or recent experience in the following key areas:-

  • Investment management experience - particularly the understanding and articulation of investment process, philosophy, portfolio construction and management
  • Strong organisational and stakeholder management skills and the ability to manage multiple disparate parties to deliver requirements accurately and on-time
  • Problem solving/analytics skills to synthesise and address multiple issues in limited time frame
  • Sound business acumen/risk assessment to identify growth opportunities and make business portfolio recommendations to achieve long term goals
  • Excellent communication/influencing with ability to adopt appropriate interpersonal styles and communication methods to work effectively with all stakeholders and lead discussion to positive conclusion
  • Demonstrated project management and able to use appropriate methodologies to rapidly address project needs.

Significant experience within the financial services industry leading to an understanding of researcher needs is an essential part of the selection criteria for this role. You should also hold Post Graduate studies - CFA, Masters of Applied Finance, MBA or working towards such.
