Senior Manager, Risk Management Department, March 2003 to present.

  • Participate with financial executives in the selection and procurement of insurance programs, including property insurance for real estate holdings, Directors & Officers liability, general liability and owner construction insurance.
  • Manage and coordinate claims with brokers and adjusters and direct the settlement of large claims including lost income.
  • Work with Design Group in reviewing proposed construction contracts for insurance requirements and risk exposure.
  • Manage the accounting and reporting of insurance costs on corporate financial records, including classification of costs, expense recognition, allocation of costs among subsidiaries and properties, and Sarbanes-Oxley documentation and execution for functional area.
  • Develop and implement accounting and operational procedures for two captive insurance subsidiaries which provide layers of self-insurance and a conduit for re-insurance programs; manage the formation of a new captive.

  • Managed the accounting system processes in PeopleSoft applications and their interfaces with the general ledger; accounted for all capital expenditures and property assets.
