About the company

The National Stock Exchange (NSE) is India's leading stock exchange providing market for Equity, Derivatives and Debt Instruments across various cities and towns  the country. NSE was set up by leading institutions to provide a modern, fully automated screen-based trading system with national reach. Moreover it has witnessed several innovations viz. demutualisation of stock exchange governance, screen based trading, compression of settlement cycles, dematerialisation and electronic transfer of securities, securities lending and borrowing, professionalisation of trading members, fine-tuned risk management systems and emergence of clearing corporations to assume counterparty risks.

Roles Performed

National Securities Clearing Corporation Ltd

1.  Coordinating Clearing & Settlement operations for Trading Members (Stock Brokers) in Cash and Derivative Products.

2. Managing operations that involves coordination from various departments from Trade Execution (Trade Recording), Clearing (Identification of Obligation) through to Settlement (Pay-in & Payout)

3. Managing collateral value of more than Rs. 110 crores.

Compliance

1. Ensuring compliance of Trading Members (as part of broader risk management to ensure safety and integrity) with various provisions of the Exchange through frequent audit of front and back office systems (including accounting systems)

2. Conducted investigations at various offices on specific activity of the member as well as general operations to mitigate any deviations from the normal practice and is responsible from initiation of inspection through show-causing and subsequent case representation.

Listing
1. Conducted plant visits, management discussion and due diligence of companies in southern region seeking listing (both IPO & secondary market) on NSE. 

2. Responsible for regional listings with the Exchange.
